11 Reasons Why You Should Attend Radical Night
Radical

On Friday, August 12th, the River of Life Church will be hosting one Radical Night! It will definitely be a night worth remembering. Here are 11 reasons why you should attend:

1. It's completely free!

Most of us here live in a small town with not much entertainment--especially free entertainment. Why not enjoy it when it comes our way?

2. There will be a live praise band.

That's right: drums, guitars, the whole nine yards! Not only is it good music, but it is music you would want your children to listen to!

3. You will have the chance to win free prizes!

The best things in life are free, right? Especially if most of those free things are gift cards--free money!
(Disclaimer: only people between the ages of 18 and 30 are permitted to enter the prize drawings, but all ages are welcome to attend!)

4. Did I mention that it's free?

If not, then it's free! Free entrance to see a band, free prizes, no payments, no anything other than a free source fun, fellowship, and freedom!

5. You're just sitting at home anyway...

Some of you reading this may be like me and (before I started going to church all of the time) spend most Friday nights at home in pajamas watching reruns of old television shows. Why not spend just one Friday night doing something that I can assure you, you will not regret. Those television shows will be there when you get back home!

6. There will definitely be drama!

OK, maybe not that kind of drama, but there will be a drama!

7. Maybe you're curious.

A decent-sized, multicultural group of mainly 20-something-year-olds that come from all types of different backgrounds and really only have two things in common (their love of Jesus and desire to see the world radically changed) would rather spend their Friday nights together at church than doing anything else. Doesn't that make you even a little curious as to why these people are so different than the usual college-aged kids?

8. You can hear not just one but many, many awesome stories!

These people have had their lives changed so much so that they are on fire (not literally, of course), ready and willing to tell anyone who will listen of what God has done for them. Some of the stories you may hear that night include things like people being delivered from/healed of sexual immorality, drunkenness, depression, suicide and so much more! Now they all embrace lives full of joy, peace, kindness, love, blessings and the like.

9. Maybe you need a change in your life.

This group of mainly 20-something-year-olds tell their stories and testimonies for two main reasons:
1. To show how good God is; and
2. To encourage and help anyone who needs it
What God did in our lives He will readily do in yours. He didn't just stop at us. If you're feeling down and out, tired of trying, and ready for a change, then this night is definitely for you.

10. We all need to be in a loving atmosphere every now and then.

With all of the hate in the world, on the news, and on social media, it would be nice to take a break and forget all of that. On next Friday, you are promised to be surrounded by people that, although they have never actually met you, will love you. They will not judge you by your past faults or your appearance, but they will instead love you for the person you are. Doesn't that sound nice?

11. Just in case you don't know, it's free.

Come on down to the River of Life Church in Waycross this Friday, August the 12th, at 7 p.m. for Radical Night!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
