13 Reasons Why I Love The Bandersnatch
Denison University

The Bandersnatch is the coolest place on Denison's campus. From the artwork on every wall to the amazing concerts they put on, it's a place to gather and enjoy good vibes and good food. I work at the snatch, so maybe I'm biased, but even when I'm not working I seem to end up there at night. I have spent many a night either working till 2 and jamming out to my playlist while throwing around tomato sauce, desperately running over for a pick me up in between studying, or coming together with friends after a long night out. Whatever the reason, I am eternally grateful that a place like the Bandersnatch exists on our campus. On college campuses, a student run and controlled space is rare, and the Snatch just makes me happy. So these are a few reasons why I love the Bandersnatch. May the vibes stay eternally chill.

1. The amazing student artwork that adorns every surface

All the "Alice in Wonderland" themed artwork makes the Bandersnatch look so amazing. What could be boring walls are incredible works of art and make it such a cool environment.

2. Snagels

Whether you love them or hate them, the snagels are certainly original. What would the Snatch be without them?

3. The concerts, open mike nights and story telling

I love the concerts at the Snatch. Jamming out to jazz or meeting cool local bands is a great way to end a night.

4. The fact that it's open till 2 A.M.

When every other food place on campus is closed, the Snatch gives us what we need.

5. The couches

Perfect for napping or getting down to business with homework.

6. Everyone who works at the Snatch

You may not know all the Snatchers personally, but I'd like to think we are all pretty chill. And we all work at the Bandersnatch because we love it.

7. The playlists

Whenever I work I try to make the music I play awesome. Check my fire playlists.

8. Pizza bagels and milkshakes

I don't know what I am going to do after college when I have drunk pizza bagel cravings, and I won't be able to stumble to the Snatch.

9. The Bandersnatch app

The new Bandersnatch app has made getting my pizza bagel fix so much easier. I don't have to wait around at the Snatch any more if I don't want to, and I get a text when my food is ready.

10. The fact that it's on East Quad

Sometimes the idea of walking to Slayter makes me want to die.

11. The Cards Against Humanity ordering system

I love hearing these crazy cards called aloud. Also picking the perfect one is the highlight of my Snatch trip sometimes.

12. It's just such a cool place to hang out

The vibes are good, man.

13. And it feels like it belongs to all of us

It is so separate from the more controlled and University run parts of Denison. The Bandersnatch feels like it belongs to us, the students. The Bandersnatch is what really cements the Denison community for me. This college experience is about us, our growing up and our education –– and the Snatch reminds me of that.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
