For many Muslims, Ramadan is the best month of the year. It’s the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast during from sunrise to sunset. It’s the month in which the Quran was revealed, so it’s very important for Muslims.
- Waking up for Suhoor is the hardest:
- When your alarm for Suhoor rings and there’s only 10 minutes left to eat:
- While eating Suhoor:
- Going back to sleep after Suhoor is the best:
- Smelling the Iftar like:
- The whole day goes by well until the last hour:
- Setting the table for Iftar and literally having heart eyes for everything on the table:
- Then going to the mosque for Taraweeh and not being able to move:
- Leaving the mosque be like:
- When you spot the moon on the last night of Ramadan, Chaand Raat, and celebrate!
- Then finally the best day, Eid! The day to get all dressed up, celebrate with family and friends, and just have fun!
Ramadan is not just about not eating and sleeping at odd times of the day, it’s a purification of one’s self. We lift up our hearts to God and cleanse ourselves through fasting, prayer, and build community. It’s the month in which we dedicate ourselves to serving others as we help ourselves grow in our relationships with God. It’s truly a blessing to be able to fast and celebrate Ramadan.
