It's the best time of the year... it's college football season. Honestly, is there anything better than game days? I don't think so. Game days will forever and always be the best days.

1. Tailgates

Is there anything better than eating all the hamburgers and nachos your heart desires while cracking open your favorite drink? I don't think so.

2. Wearing Your School Colors

There is something special about looking around a seeing a sea of your school's colors all around you.

3. Dogs

The best part of tailgates? When people bring their cute dogs of course! We all need our dog fix.

4. Football

Without football we wouldn't have these incredible game days, so we cannot forget about that one. Football season in the best season!

5. Being Back In The Stadium

Home is where your team plays football, right? I think so.

6. Spending The Whole Day With Your Best Friends

Game days take up the whole day, aka you get to spend the whole day with your best friends.

7. Cheering Your Team On In The Student Section

There is nothing like cheering on your favorite team in the student section. It gets a little wild, but I would not trade that feeling for the world.

8. The Moment Your Team Wins

I know that not all of us get to experience those Ws on a weekly basis, but luckily my team does (sorry not sorry).

9. Singing Your Alma Mater With Your Whole School

Nothing compares to proudly singing your alma mater at the top of your lungs with thousands of others.

10. The Hype That Surrounds Game Day

A hype falls over the town when it is a game day that is unexplainable. Nothing feels better!

11. Going Home At The End Of The Day Proud To Call Yourself A Fan Of Your Team

From the morning to night, whether your team wins or loses, you will forever be thankful to call yourself a fan of your team.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
