11 Must-Have Items At Your Fourth Of July Barbecue

We all know the best part about America's independence day is the barbecue you're going to attend.

11 Must-Have Items At Your Fourth Of July Barbecue

The Fourth of July is a national holiday that basically promotes everyone having a great time and celebrating America's birthday. Between all the fireworks, time with friends and family, and the great outdoors, there are so many positive things about this incredible holiday.

However, the best part is arguably the BBQ, filled with amazing food that is usually part of the celebration. In honor of one of the best holidays of the year, here are 11 things your Fourth of July BBQ just won't be complete without this year, besides some red, white, and blue decor:

1. Burgers

Pretty self explanatory. What's a barbecue without a good burger?

2. Hot Dogs

If you don't know what this gif is from, are you even American? Hot dogs are an American barbecue staple and a Fourth of July must have.

*Side note: the best July 4th tradition, aside from barbecues and fireworks, is the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. That's a fact.*

3. Corn on the Cob

Probably the healthiest thing you'll eat all day, but it's a national holiday! So, therefore it's okay!

4. Mac n Cheese

One of the top ten foods ever, no one @ me. If there's no mac n cheese at the BBQ party, I'm not coming.

5. Lemonade

A little lemonade (regular, spiked, or Beyoncé's version) never hurt nobody.

6. Popsicles

There is literally nothing better than a good cold popsicle after a hot day of swimming, barbecuing, and being with the people you love in the summer month of July.

7. Watermelon

That's it, that's the reason why you have to have watermelon on the Fourth.

8. Baked Beans

Though these aren't my favorite, so many people view these as a barbecue staple!

9. Cracker Jack

Maybe not a total BBQ must have, but a total must have for a BBQ on the Fourth of July.

10. Pies/Cobblers

*Cue American pie, the movie and the song.*

11. Salads

Whether it be a leafy green salad, a potato salad, or a macaroni salad, no barbecue is complete without at least one of these bad boys.

This year when you're celebrating the Fourth, make sure to include a few- if not all of these superb BBQ staples... you'll thank me later while you're lounging by the pool or at the beach.

Don't forget to decorate and dress in your best USA pride outfit. Happy Independence Day!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
