Take some time out of your busy schedule to find a hobby you enjoy! While it may not be easy to find free time, it will so be worth it once you find something you are passionate about. Not only are hobbies a way to spend your free time, they also help you become a more well-rounded individual!

1. Baking.

This is a very rewarding and inexpensive hobby. You can share your finished product with family, friends, and coworkers. Who doesn't love to be surprised with homemade cupcakes or cookies every once in awhile?

2. Gardening.

This is a great way to grow some of your favorite herbs or vegetables and save yourself a trip to the grocery store!

3. Photography.

This one is easy if you carry your phone with you everywhere but if you really enjoy it, it's worth investing in and getting a nice camera! You can eventually decorate your home with your own photos!

4. Yoga.

Yoga has endless health benefits and will help you relax in the midst of a busy day.

5. Knitting/crocheting.

Both knitting and crocheting are very relaxing activities. Once you are done knitting a hat, scarf, blanket, etc. you can gift it, sell it, or keep it for yourself! This hobby is perfect for the fall or winter time.

6. Playing an instrument.

Teach yourself to play an instrument like the ukulele, guitar, drums, or piano! This will definitely help you clear your mind when you get overwhelmed.

7. Blogging.

Do you want to connect with new people, improve writing skills, maybe get paid? Then blogging is a perfect hobby for you!

8. Jewelry-making.

You can sell your jewelry on Etsy or make gifts for friends and family. This is another hobby that can be fairly inexpensive!

9. Reading.

There is nothing more relaxing than getting lost in a good book. Take a break from your required reading and read for leisure!

10. Golfing.

This hobby is a great way to get your exercise in while bonding with people and making friendships. The learning process takes patience but you can start off just practicing at a driving range.

11. Listen to podcasts.

Listening to podcasts takes very little energy and is entertaining. You can listen to podcasts anywhere (on the beach, in the car, at home) and you can learn a lot from them, too!

Try out a few different hobbies and decide which fits you. Many hobbies allow you to enjoy your free time and still feel productive.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
