It's almost that time of year when people are brainstorming New Year's resolutions... get fit, save money, do more good deeds, etc. This year why don't you challenge yourself a little more with these healthy habits?

1. Replace your phone with a good book.

This is especially helpful before you go to bed!

2. Get 8 hours of sleep.

Yes, that means go to sleep earlier, not hit the snooze.

3. Drink lemon water in the morning.

Lemon water boosts your immune system, boosts energy, freshens breath, and promotes healthy and rejuvenated skin.

4. Make lists to stay motivated.

This can be done every night before bed or when you wake up every morning.

5. Write down what you are thankful for.

This helps you to have a positive attitude and keeps your mind off negative things in life.

6. Go on walks every day.

Walking is not only good for your physical health but also alleviates depression and fatigue.

7. Wake up earlier.

This allows you more time to eat the most important meal of the day and start your morning off right without being rushed.

8. Plan your meals.

This will make you more conscious of what you are consuming and likely encourage a healthier diet!

9. Clean and organize your living space.

Living in chaos is never good! Make your day a little easier just by knowing where you can find everything you need.

10. Designate one night a week for self-care.

Take a bath. Do a facial. Burn a candle. Meditate. You deserve it!

11. Take your vitamins.

Biotin for healthy skin and hair. Vitamin B for a good immune system. Vitamin D for strong and healthy bones. Vitamin C for reducing wrinkles and boosting your immune system.

If you haven't already picked up these healthy habits I hope they make your 2018 just a little bit better!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
