There can be a lot of things that happen once you begin to establish your own independent life in the "real world," but here are the top 11 things that may happen to you and/or your peers after you have graduated.
1. Making BIG purchases.
Whether it’s buying a new car, a new McMansion, or a new spaceship, you will be obtaining assets.
2. Taking relationships to another level — with engagements, weddings, and pregnancies.
People will start changing their last names and posting pictures of their ultrasounds…. There will be many lifestyle changes. I’ve also never seen so many rings on my news feed.
3. Having less free time & working all the time.
Your spare time might only be available on the weekends. Or, you may barely have any spare time. Your free time will be very important to you and you will make the most of it.
4. Traveling or moving to different destinations.
Whether it’s taking a European vacation or moving to Hawaii, you will need it at times. Treat yourself.
5. Having more responsibilities.
There will be many bills that you will pay and you will be paying bills for the rest of your life. You should just remember that it all adds up.
6. Having your own money.
You can spend how you want and buy whatever you want. It’s great! Financial independence is great.
7. Handling your own life problems.
You will learn to be self-sufficient. Somehow you will learn to become a chef, plumber, electrician, or mechanic in the times that you need to be.
8. Time goes by even faster than before.
It seems like time goes by even faster once you are out of school. It will feel like Christmas was just yesterday but Christmas is only two months away now!
9. Having more ability to let go of what happened in the past.
The past is the past. You may have some guilt about something that happened but you will be able to more easily forgive yourself with time and move on with your life. Let it go.
10. Not everything will be positive.
In life, there are just so many things that can happen. God forbid someone may be involved in a tragedy. You should ask for help if you need it especially if you are in grief.
11. Making even more connections with different types of people.
You will get used to working with and connecting with a diverse amount of people. You will learn something new from your peers.
