11 George Costanza Moments That Make You Want To Celebrate Festivus

Let's just say you have a lot of grievances you want to air on December 23rd.

FESTIVUS IS ALMOST HERE!

The infamous holiday from Seinfeld is on December 23rd, so it's only appropriate to 'air some grievances' about how everyone feels about the holiday season... real or fictional.

George Costanza is a lonely, depressed and inadequate character from the show, inspired by real-life producer/writer Larry David that became one of the best characters out of the greatest show ever made (about nothing). Here are a few moments about your thoughts regarding the holiday season that makes you want to celebrate Festivus instead.

1. Trying to get a head start on your New Year's resolution

We all make one resolution to lose weight when we get back to school, but since you're feeling 'good' before finals, you decide to head to the gym before the holidays...but hopefully you don't fail like George does here.

2. When your BFF asks you what you wanna do one night

Pizza, pointless Snapchats, and Prince of Tides? Or Princess Bride? Some movie with a P I don't know.

3. During finals week, this will be your daily routine when you get coffee in a busy line

The fact that the line is still busy at 10 a.m. on a Wednesday before your 10:30 a.m. exam will make your medium coffee feel like a small. GO LARGE OR GO HOME!

4. Reading the material on a final you didn't study for

Pretty self-explanatory, my friends.

5. When people ask why you're colder than the season itself

So yeah, you might be judgmental behind people's backs. Let's just say it's petty and not like you really are THAT judgmental.

6. When you get home and your parents ask you to do things for them

Again, pretty self-explanatory.

7. Laundry at school, basically

When you have nothing else better to do on a Sunday night.

8. When you're home and get a call for a potential part-time shift at your old work

You're in the bathroom after lunch and then BAM! Your old job calls at the most inopportune time.

9. When your dad makes a joke about your grades at the family holiday party and you're trying to go with it

He's had a few drinks tonight, so you're willing to let it go...but at least let it go without a fight.

10. When your friends are having a holiday party and it's a potluck so they ask if anyone can pick up the cheapest thing on the list

It's probably paper plates or something.

11. When your dad gets angry at you for wasting money on something dumb (again)

For me, it's either when I buy another 'stupid wrestling shirt' or pizza when 'we have food here at the house!' Welcome to my world, folks.

However, at one point or another, you end up having a great holiday season away from books, dorms, and other school responsibilities. Happy Festivus!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
