You could be in this position for a variety of reasons. You're fresh out of a heartbreak, your dog doesn't want to cuddle with you anymore, and all of the love your friends post on social media makes you sick (and also really really jealous). Needless to say, these moments are definitely the most cringe worthy/exhausting aspects of the dating scene.

1. Trying to put yourself together

Shaving? Exfoliating? Trying to get your eyebrows to look like that other girl in the YouTube video? I'm trying really hard here.

2. Not knowing proper date etiquette

Do I drive myself and meet them? What do people consider a good "first date?" Overthinking it is honestly making me nauseous and cancelling looks soooo tempting.

3. Tinder

If your picture is a series of you in a group of other guys, I bet you 20 bucks that you're the ugly one.

4. Having your mom try to set you up

Your friend is telling you about her single child because the child is desperate!! ...oh wait.

5. Attempting to fill the void

There's only so many times you can sit through Always Sunny or rewatch One Tree Hill before you feel like something's missing.

6. Realizing halfway through how much this person SUCKS

I don't even know why I attempted. You're more pretentious than a boy that claims he hasn't cried since he was four.

7. Debating on when sending texts are acceptable

And interpreting a response for five minutes to find out what it really means.

8. Purposely posting on social media in an attempt they'll see it.

9. Practically falling in love with a pretty face

....and a bland ass personality. I feel like I'm talking to wet whole wheat pasta.

10. Feeling incredibly desperate

I'm about ready to just call it quits because my standards are getting even lower than they were to begin with, which was HELLA low.

11. But sucking it up and realizing you're independent anyways

I have like, bills and stuff. And credit. And I'LL BE FINE AS A SINGLE WOMAN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
