Grades are not everything but in college, you at least have to try to pass your classes. While this can be a bit hectic, those of us who study a lot get a fair amount of comments about our habits. These are just some common things I've had to answer.

1. I've been told I'll kill myself studying as much as I do.

This comment came from someone who barely studied. Everyone's brain works differently, so some of us have to study more, or longer, to apply our notes correctly. I'm not in college to just socialize.

2. No, surprises do not go over well when it's an important/busy week.

While I am not someone who likes surprises in general, surprising someone during finals week or a busy week is poor college etiquette. At least get a heads up on their schedule first. We are busy people.

Oh, and if you know it will piss someone off, just don't. That's not okay.

3. I do take breaks and care of myself.

Believe it or not, I take care of my body. Studying for hours on end is not good for the brain. But, as seriously as I consider school, my health matters too.

4. Passing classes can override my social life.

If I have a million projects, papers, and other things to do, I might not be out and about until the weekend. Luckily my phone gives me a few minutes to chill.

5. Attending class does matter to me.

If I have to spend over twenty dollars on text books and materials, I'm not skipping class. Unless I am sick, my butt will occupy a seat.

6. There is too much money invested in this school for me to joke around.

College is expensive, okay? And I want to get my degree as fast as I can without losing my mind. So, of course, I'm going to do my work.

7. I do have a sense of humor and hang out with people contrary to popular belief.

My circle of friends might be small, but I have a budding social life and enjoy various memes.

8. There's nothing wrong with staying busy.

Life is naturally busy, so why shouldn't college be? It keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy it. Maybe that is just me.

9. For me, no class is "easy," you have to work for your grade.

Children, sorry to break it to you, but college is challenging. No major is an easy major, despite what many may think. Take your classes somewhat seriously.

10. Sometimes I do get extremely stressed out.

With my health stuff and schedule, sometimes things get intense. But I find ways to relax and de-stress.

11. Having my hard work pay off is the ultimate reward.

Knowing my effort paid off at the end of the semester is an amazing feeling. And it makes summer even sweeter.

Have a great school year everyone!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
