10 Years Later, Gossip Girl Will Never Be Forgotten
The CW

Ten years ago Gossip Girl aired for the first time and the world became infatuated with the beauty of Serena van der Woodsen and the mystery of Dan Humphrey. The show, which started off with little expectations, has transformed young girls' lives. Everyone tries to compare their everyday experiences to the lavish lifestyle Serena and Blair lived as high schoolers, even though it seemed like they were 30. Everyone wants to find their real-life Nate, and strives to find the perfect man that is Chuck Bass. What we would give to have Serena's style and Blair's go-get-it personality. I probably shouldn't admit this but I have easily watched the series three times; it's just that good. Here are 10 moments everyone is still talking about 10 years later.

1. When Serena gets off the train at Grand Central

How can you forget the moment that started everything? Dan Humphrey staring at the girl of his dreams, although she had no idea who he was. It marked the beginning of six seasons of drama surrounding the adventures of the Lonely Boy and the one and only Serena van der Woodsen.

2. "I'm Chuck Bass"

The greatest three words in television history. "I'm Chuck Bass." Listening to the Chuck Bass say his name with the utmost confidence, it never gets old.

3. The White Party

Manhattan's elite in all white in The Hampton's. What could go wrong? Everything. Dan walks into the party just as Nate and Serena are trying to make Nate's girlfriend jealous. Talk about bad timing. But Dan gets what he came for in the end, as him and Serena continue their roller coaster relationship that lasts all six seasons.

4. Georgina Sparks

Every time she showed up, you knew everyone was in for trouble. Georgina is the unfiltered friend that "accidentally" spills everyone's secrets. She cannot be stopped and is not afraid to hurt everyone in the process.

5. Prom Night

Prom night on the Upper East Side was everything and more. Serena is in jail and her mother refuses to bail her out. Leave it to her on and off again boyfriend, Dan, to rescue her just in time for prom. Although Blair and Nate's night ends with a breakup, no one can get in the way of Blair winning prom queen, not even Chuck.

6. When Chuck Chooses Jenny Over Blair

The moment everything seems to be coming together. All the games between Chuck and Blair are about to end as Chuck is going to propose to Blair, but it's too good to be true as young Jenny Humphrey finds herself in the middle of the drama. Chuck's betrayal of Blair was the final straw that ended with Blair literally kicking Jenny out of Manhattan. Who knew one person had that much power?

7. Blair and Her Minions

Blair didn't concern herself with having friends. All she wanted was power and the ability to rule the entire Upper East Side. Her minions were the closest thing Blair had to friends, besides her up-and-down relationship with Serena. Blair used her "friends" as maids and made them tend to her every need. Imagine, being one of Blair's minions and spending your high school years trying to impress someone and all they know you for is getting your coffee and spilling drinks on people.

8. Bart Bass dies, not once but twice.

Literally who else can say they died twice. Leave it to Manhattan's most powerful man to return to his empire after faking his own death and then he ends up getting killed by his own son.

9. Who is Gossip Girl?

Gossip Girl is none other than Dan Humphrey. Not surprisingly, it was the quiet behind the scenes character that ended up being the cause of all the drama. The classic case of the outsider quietly knowing everything about the insiders and sharing their secrets with the world. My guess was Vanessa, but I guess Dan was close enough.

10. Chuck and Blair's wedding

You've waited six seasons for this very moment, only to have your heart pounding at the thought of Chuck and Blair being chased down by the police. Blair and Chuck's relationship endured literally everything you can think of, but now they have finally come full circle and are ready to build their own empire.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
