New Year's Eve. For most, it's a time to celebrate the end of one great year and the beginning of an even greater one. But, you know, celebrating with cocktails is really one of the best ways to really get into the spirit—using spirits. So here are 10 different cocktails that you can try whipping up at home in order to celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Hot Rum Punch

Ingredients (1 serving)

0.5 oz. Spiced Rum

0.5 oz. Black Spiced Rum

0.25 oz. Demerara Syrup

1 oz. Hot Chai

2 oz. Warmed Apple Cider

How to make it

Warm the cider in a pot. In a coffee mug, mix the brewed tea, demerara syrup and both rums. Add the cider to the coffee mug, and your done. Garnish the mug with an apple wedge or orange wheel.


Raspberry Chocolate Kiss Cocktail

Ingredients (1 serving)

1/4 cup Mint-infused Simple Syrup, plus some for the glass rim

3 Chocolate Cookies, crushed into a fine powder

10 Raspberries

1/4 Cup Vodka

2 tbsps Cranberry Juice

How to make it:

In a shallow dish, pour enough simple syrup to cover the bottom. Do the same with the crushed cookies in a separate dish. Dip the rim of your martini glass into the syrup and then immediately dip it in the cookies.

Next, you want to put the raspberries in a cocktail shaker and crush them. Add the syrup and crush some more. Now add the vodka and cranberries and fill the rest of the shaker with ice. Shake until the drink is cold and then immediately strain into the martini glass. Garnish with a raspberry.


The Forbidden Fruit

Ingredients (1 serving)

1 oz. Vodka

0.5 oz. Triple Sec

1 oz. Sour Mix

0.75 oz. Pomegranate Juice

How to make it:

Mix together in a cocktail shaker, add some ice cubes, and pour into a glass.


Sorbet and Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients (1 serving)

1 tsp Sorbet (flavor of your choice)

Chilled Champagne

How to make it:

Scoop the sorbet into a champagne flute and pour the champagne on top.


Caipirissima

Ingredients (1 serving)

1.5 oz. White Rum

5 Lime Wedges

1 twist Sugar

3 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

How to make it:

In a shaker, crush the sugar and lime wedges together. Add the rum, lime juice and ice. Shake until the drink is cold and then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.


Crown Manhattan

Ingredients (1 serving)

1 oz. Crown Royal Deluxe Whiskey

0.25 oz Cragganmore Distillers Edition

0.25 oz. Sweet Vermouth

1 dash Bitters

How to make it:

Add everything into a shaker, fill with ice and shake until cool. Strain into a glass and garnish with a cherry.


French 75

Ingredients (1 serving)

1 oz. Dry Gin

1 oz. Sparkling Wine

0.5 oz. Lemon Juice

0.5 oz. Simple Syrup

How to make it:

Add the gin, lemon and syrup into a shaker and fill with ice. Shake. Pour into a champagne flute and top with the sparkling wine.


Jamaican Storm

Ingredients (1 serving)

0.5 oz. Ginger Flavored Liqueur

1 oz. Dark Rum

5 oz. Ginger Ale

1 Lime Slice

How to make it:

Add everything together in a glass filled with ice and then garnish with the lime slice.


Brandy Alexander

Ingredients (1 serving)

1.5 oz Brandy

2 oz. Heavy Cream

1 oz. Kahlua

1 cup Ice

How to make it:

Place everything in a blender, and blend on slow speed until frothy. Pour into glass and serve.


Godiva Red Dragon Martini

Ingredients (1 serving)

1.5 oz. Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur

0.5 oz. Scotch Whiskey

1 Cherry

1 slice Orange

How to make it:

Combine everything into a shaker and shake until chilled, strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the cherry and orange slice.
