"I love you" is thrown around in today's society like it's nothing, and maybe that is what scares me about those three words, the person saying them doesn't have to mean them. Those three words are tossed around in everyday life and no one thinks twice about it.
However, here are ten things to say when you love someone in ways that may mean more to someone.
1. "Text me when you get home"
It's not because I want to start a conversation with you at two in the morning, but when I hear the ding, I know you got home from the party, okay, and that's well worth the wait. I'll never apologize for being the person who says that every night you go out.
2. "Tell me about your day"
Some people turn this into a routine, and that's unfortunate because when I ask you about your day, I want to hear about the weird cloud you saw on your way home from the gym or the old lady who ate alone and almost made you cry, chill out tough guy, your secrets are safe with me.
3. "CAN I TELL YOU SOME SH*T"
This is one I, myself, use often, sometimes there's just something that got under your skin, and you need to vent. Baby, vent to me. Tell me about the guy who cut you off in traffic or the girl that broke your best friend's heart. Tell me all about it.
4. "This made me think of you"
When someone's always on your mind, this one is easy. The simplest kind of love is the one where a song can come on and you begin to think, "this could be our song", so before you go in and get your smoothie text me about it. Call me real quick, even if it is just for two minutes.
5. "I heard this song and knew you would like it"
I'm a music FREAK, so send me your playlist, do it. FaceTime me and sing it to me, no matter how off key your voice is.
6. "I just called because I missed your voice"
Do I even have to go into detail about this one?
7. "I have to run some errands, want to come with me?"
As simple as it gets folks.
8."I know you had a rough day, I'll be over in a bit"
Sometimes you just got to hold onto your significant other while you cry, even if you don't know why you're crying.
9. "You're not bothering me"
Often times people assume they're bothering the person they're talking to, and it can be hard to get over. Sometimes, it's the little words of reassurance that you do in fact want me around that I need. (I know we're not supposed to depend on others blah blah blah. Let's be real people; we all do it.)
10. "Goodnight, I'll talk to you in the morning"
You can make someone go to bed with a smile on their face with this simple sentence. I prefer goodnight texts over good morning texts any day, don't ask me why, because I couldn't tell you. There's just something about ending the night on a good note I can't put into words.
