Self-care is not only relaxing but also necessary. If you don’t stop once and awhile and tune into what your mind, body and spirit needs, you will find yourself getting burned out pretty quickly.
In the long run, taking small steps every day to take care of yourself will keep you going enough to get everything else you have to do done. So put your to-do list aside for a minute. Take a break from your “shoulds” and allow yourself some “wants.”
1. Take a bath, or a shower, whatever floats your boat.
2. Read something you want to read (Not just all the things you have to read.)
3. Listen to music, or play an instrument.
4. Draw or paint something.
5. Do yoga or something else that both challenges you and feels good.
6. Go for a drive (or a walk) without a destination.
7. Call a friend or write them a letter
8. Paint your nails, do a face mask or get a massage.
9. Play with an animal.
10. Write something down in a journal.
Treat yourself, it's okay and you deserve it.
