Regardless of how you did on your finals, they’re finally over, and that's something worth celebrating! No more stressing about grades. At this point, your grades are what they are, and it's time to treat yourself for all of the hard work you’ve put in over the past few weeks.
1. Eat real food.
Say goodbye to Ramen, microwaveable mac n’ cheese, and bland dining hall food... at least until next semester. Say hello to home-cooked meals and Panera dates with friends from your hometown.
2. Sleep.
During finals week, things move way too quickly and there isn’t enough time in the day to complete everything that needs to be done. As soon as the semester ends, a lot of time is added to your schedule. You should take advantage of that and use some of it to make up for the sleep you've been lacking. Your body will thank you.
3. Go somewhere you've never been before.
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our daily routines that we forget that there’s a whole world around us full of different people and places. You don't have to travel somewhere luxurious for it to be worthwhile. You can try out a new nearby venue in your hometown or venture into the city to explore somewhere you've never been.
4. Reconnect with an old friend over brunch.
When you find yourself drowning in schoolwork and responsibilities, it can be difficult to stay in frequent contact with old friends and people you care about. Setting some time aside to get together with people who matter to you is fun and helps you maintain close friendships with people you don't get to see often.
5. Read a book.
When’s the last time you’ve had time to read for pleasure? Can't remember? Me neither. Pick up a new book and get to reading.
6. Splurge on something that excites you.
Whether it’s a new bathing suit for the beach or a Polaroid camera to document your summer adventures, you deserve to treat yourself to something that brings you joy.
7. Go on a picnic and spend time outdoors.
Now that summer weather has finally arrived, it’s the perfect time to go on picnics. You can make a date out of it. Cook lunch and eat it somewhere nice and lively like Rittenhouse Square.
8. Search for new music and update your playlists.
Music is the best way to de-stress. Plus, you might as well start working on your summer playlists for long car rides or nights spent in with friends.
9. Host a bonfire.
Bonfires are a summer night tradition. Invite some friends over for marshmallows, music, and late night conversations.
10. Hit up the beach for a day trip with friends.
What's summer without spontaneous beach trips? Plan a day trip to the beach with friends and enjoy the socialization and sunshine. You deserve it.
