Having clear skin is definitely a challenge. However, it is possible and with a good skincare routine for your skin to look significantly better and much healthier. Some tips to add to your skincare routine is to do the following:
1. Eat healthy
This is the hardest thing for me to do. Your skin is a reflection of your diet. If you are eating junk food all the time, the chances of you breaking out are much higher. Eat some veggies and your whole body will thank you.
2. Wash your skin
I know you may be tired after a long night. Resist the urge to crash into your bed before washing your makeup off. Your skin needs to breathe. Be sure to wash your face at least once a day with a cleanser.
3. Drink a lot of water
I always forget to drink water. Unless it's right beside me I won't drink it. Try to make it a habit to keep water beside you wherever you are sitting. Be sure to treat yourself but don't drink sugary drinks all the time
4. Wash your bed sheets and pillow cases
I actually heard this tip from a dermatologist a few years ago. The oils from your face get on your sheets and pillowcases. If your don't wash them often then you are basically putting your face on it multiple times which will eventually cause breakouts. If you are someone who breaks out a lot then you should try to wash your sheets every week or every other week.
5. Clean your makeup brushes often
Dirt builds up in the brushes. You'd be surprised how much gunk is in them when you wash them after a long time. You put these brushes on your face almost every day. Make sure they are clean.
6. Green tea
Green tea makes your skin look wonderful. There are so many different types of green tea facials out there you can make on your own. Even using it as a toner helps with evening out your skin tone before applying makeup.
7. Don’t touch your face too much
Your hands are covered in germs. I am guilty of touching my face too but it's something we should all keep to a minimum.
8. Keep your skin moisturized
Prevent premature wrinkles by moisturizing your skin. Keeping it hydrated will keep it looking younger and healthier longer
9. Clean your cell phone
If you talk on the phone a lot then this tip is very important for you to follow. Like your hands, your phone has a lot of germs. When you constantly put your phone to your face, you are transferring more and more germs there.
10. Relax!
Be sure to find time to stretch your legs out and relax. Stress is another cause for breakouts. Be sure to keep some time to yourself. Watch a movie. Read a book. Listen to music. Do stuff that makes you calm.
