For those of you who don’t know, Galentine’s Day is February 13. Mark it in your planners now, ladies. It is a celebration of ladies and female friendships, according to Leslie Knope. While Valentine’s Day is fun (but only for couples really), Galentine’s Day is the perfect way to tell your female friends how much they mean to you, even though you don’t always get along or agree with their life choices.

1. Girls Night Out

Squad up by going out (if you’re of age, of course) and celebrating the best day of the year with all of your friends!

2. Spa Day

You can paint your nails and make DIY facials on Pinterest! Just relax and listen to some soothing music. This is the perfect opportunity for some much-needed relaxation and girl time.

3. Laser Tag

Hit up laser tag with your friends and have an awesome time. If you’re the competitive type or have competitive friends, then this may not be the choice for you though. We want to celebrate female friendship not put a strain on them.

4. Brunch

Everyone loves brunch. If you don’t have time for brunch, then head to Waffle House or IHOP for dinner because Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson always promote breakfast food. What better way for you to celebrate Galentine’s Day than by eating breakfast with your girls!

5. Go to the movies

You don’t have to be stereotypical and see a rom-com for Galentine’s Day. See “The Revenant” or “The Boy” or even “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” if that’s your thing! Just because it’s Galentine’s Day doesn’t mean you have to do “girly” things or watch “girly” movies.

6. Have a night in

Watch Netflix together and order a bunch of pizzas. Get those breadsticks and order those sides. You deserve it!

7. Do Pinterest crafts together

It’s a perfect way to showcase all of your awesome talents and help each other learn to do new things!

8. "High School Musical" Sing-A-Long

What better way to kill two birds with one stone by celebrating the 10-year anniversary of a cinematic masterpiece and celebrating Galentine’s Day?

9. Go sing karaoke

What better way to celebrate Galentine’s Day than by going out with your girls and belting out tunes of some awesome lady artists like Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Adele, etc or re-enact your favorite Lip Sync Battle performances.

10. Treat yo self!

Do all of the above and treat yo self because it’s Galentine’s Day. No other explanation needed.
