Christmas season is right around the corner and with finals out of the way, now is the time for college students to celebrate. No longer will we have to worry about finishing that 15-page paper on time or remember to complete all 16 modules for that online before the semester ends. We are free and it feels so great. Here are some things I will most definitely be doing throughout my entire break.

1. Movie nights with friends

Whether that's going out to the movies or staying in and watching at home, doesn't matter cause we won't have any assignments lingering in our minds any longer.

2. Dinner with roommates or friends to celebrate the end of finals

It's become my tradition to celebrate the end of finals with either friends or roommates. And this year I combined them together. It was epic.

3. Game nights with friends

One of the best ways to decompress from the stress of the past semester is gather friends together and play games.

4. Binging on tv shows that you had to push to the side for finals

It's gonna be a date with me and Jon Snow for the rest of the month.

5. Sitting at home doing absolutely nothing...best thing ever

During break, you will not be able to pull me away from the couch. I will be a couch potato all through this holiday season. Watch me!

6. Lounging in pjs all day and dance it out

Where every day feels like the weekend and you are back at home with the parents getting food you don't have to pay for.

7. Giving yourself a spa day

"Treat yourself before you wreck yourself!" Take a moment to give your body what it deserves, some much-needed love and attention.

8. Having enough time to cook dinner and learn some new recipes

You can call me the next great Martha Stewart.

9. Eat tons and tons of ice cream

Why not, the semester's over, its holiday season, and I don't need to look good for anybody for a few weeks.

10. If Georgia gets snow, make snowman, snow angels, or have snowball fights

Enjoy the brief moment that Georgia occasionally gets snow and go outside and have some fun!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
