Video games can help people of all ages escape from reality for a little while. While a lot of gamers go on missions, battle grotesque boss fights and unlock hidden secrets, a lot of the video games we play can give out dialogue about the basic facts of life and can even uplift us in times of sorrow and despair. Here are some of the best quotes that come from video games that revolve around the basics of and the importance of real life.

1. "It is something that grows over time... A true friendship. A feeling in the heart that becomes even stronger over time." - Sheik from "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

2. "There's no use crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying until you run out of cake." - Glados from "Portal"

3. "We all make choices in life, but in the end our choices make us." - Andrew Ryan from "BioShock"

4. "Wanting something does not give you the right to have it." - Ezio Auditore from "Assassin's Creed 2"

5. "Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better." Chief from "Animal Crossing"

6. "Thinking of you, wherever you are. We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend. Now I step forward to realize this wish. And who knows: Staring a new journey may not be so hard, or maybe it has already begun. There are many worlds, but they share the same sky. One sky, one destiny." - Kairi from "Kingdom Hearts"

7. "No matter how dark the night, morning always comes, and our journey begins anew." - Lulu from "Final Fantasy X"

8. "Faith in money will lead you nowhere..."- Leon S. Kennedy from "Resident Evil 4"

9. "You cannot give up just yet...Chara! Stay Determined..." - Asgore from "Undertale"

10. "It is important to remain calm, cool, and collected. Even in the most extreme conditions" - Ada Wong from "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles"

Let's be honest: Some of us learned lessons from people who never even existed. (As strange as that sounds to a lot of people.) But underneath the amazing and colorful graphics and gameplay, these games have been teaching us these lessons and morals for years, and that's just another reason that these games are loved by many.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
