The University of Maryland is known for its beautiful campus, open spaces, and overall fearless approach to education. Though I am only a little over half of my way through my first semester of freshman year, my short months at UMD have allowed me to experience plenty. Below please find a list of ten UMD things that I have come to love to hate and hate to love.
(In no particular order)
1. The Dining Hall
First Day:
One Week In:
2. Exercising/ Working Out at Eppley
I walk everywhere so that must count for something. Right? RIGHT?!?!
3. Class
Obvious but must be said.
4. Wasabi/Shanghai
How many subpar sushi rolls can one have until they reach their breaking point?
5. McKeldin Library
Can't live with it, can't live without it.
6. The Common Shop
Lol jk common shop runs are crucial.
7. NOT going out on Tuesdays
The FOMO is real.
8. Doing laundry
Adulting is hard.
9. Frat shoes
Oh, what I would do for clean sneakers.
10. Getting out of bed
I'm perpetually tired.
These are the things that I have come to love (even though it may seem otherwise) here at UMD. My first semester of college has taught me a lot about myself, my study habits, and how little patience I have for the things listed above.
