Covid-19 caused many students to opt for virtual school, however for those still going to in-person school even for one class, here is some advice to keep you and everyone around you safe.

1. Wear a mask

By being at school, students are constantly exposing themselves to the virus even with precautions. However, the biggest precaution should be wearing a mask, because it directly helps keep the germs away from your mouth and from exiting your mouth into the air.

2. Sanitize your belongings

By sanitizing your supplies and books, the germs will stay out and help lower the chances of catching the virus. As hundreds of students go to school, it is impossible to know who has been exposed and where people's hands have been. With this, germs spread very easily, and without sanitizing your things you are risking the chance of spreading the germs to others in school and at home.

3. Wash your hands

During Covid-19 germs are the number 1 cause for it spreading, and by washing your hands constantly for at least 20 seconds you are preventing the germs from reaching your mouth and catching the virus as well as spreading it.

4. Keep a safe distance from others

By keeping at least a 6 feet away from others, even your friends can lower the chances immensely of your cathing the virus and or being a carrier of it. This is because the distance helps keep the germs from reaching our body and keeps you safe.

5. Bring your own food

Bringing your own food/ lunch to school can help prevent you from catching the virus from the school cafeteria food wrappers and plastic materials. This is another precaution that is recommended by many experts.

6. Do not use others belongings

Although they maybe your friends, anyone can be a carrier of the virus, especially students. Therefore, by not touching other's belongings you are helping keep your germs away from them as well as their germs away from you.

Many bacteria and germs are spread through hands, and by touching parts of your face, the germs only spread and raise the chances of you acquiring the virus.

8. Try not to take unessescary belongings out of bag

By only exposing the supplies that you need in specific classes you are lowering the chances of more germs spreading onto your materials, and thus your chances of being exposed to the virus.

9. Check your temperature every day

Checking your temperature is vital to making sure that you do not have the virus. This is because symptoms do not usually show in the first couple of days, therefore by taking your temperature every day you will be able to diagnose yourself early and take precautions.

By staying at home even with a slight cough or temperature, staying at home will ensure not only the safety of yourself but also your peers at school and your family members.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
