Everyone is different, but unique people can come together because of similar interests. Although every friend group may not have a Joey Tribbiani like the Central Perk gang did, it seems that we all have moments when we can relate to Joey because sometimes, he paints a picture in a way you never thought was possible.
1. When you ate too much but the food was so good that you didn't regret it.
I think we can all agree this has happened to everyone. I mean, the cake wasn't going to eat itself, was it?
2. When you tried learning a new language.
Back to the good old days when you had to take a foreign language class in middle school. Some people had a knack for learning new languages -- I was not one of those people.
3. When someone was being annoying and you just wanted some peace and quiet.
There are days when I just want to enjoy my snack and watch Netflix. Those are the days I am not to be disturbed.
4. When your friends laughed at a joke and you had to pretend you understood it.
I've been there far too many times, and I'll probably be there a lot more in the future, too. You might get sick one day and won't be able to hang out with your friends. And somehow, that will be the day they manage to turn a million mundane items into inside jokes.
5. When you tried to give your friends advice.
There are many ways to be inspirational, but there are few ways to be uniquely inspirational.
6. When you tried to get revenge.
When someone steals your seat, you go all out.
7. When you had to get something done.
Joey's Everest was a turkey, but yours may be something else. Perhaps you have to write an important paper, or meet up with a friend for lunch. Or, you might just have to get out of bed after being a total potato for the past 12 hours. Everyone has a different Everest.
8. When desperate times called for desperate measures.
College students can't afford lobsters or steaks every night, so we often have to settle for food that is less than appetizing. But hey, if it tastes okay, it's probably okay to eat.
9. When you became so hungry and angry that your emotions finally evolved into "hangry".
We all go through this. It's hard to be genuinely interested in someone's story when you're starving and you've already eaten the complimentary bread.
10. When you had to find a gift for someone at the last minute.
I'm not sure you can imitate Joey and read "Love You Forever" to someone, but you can certainly try to read something like "Hamlet" to your friend on their birthday. You may not get invited to their birthday party next year, though.
