10 Times Us Odyssey Creators Saw Ourselves As Carrie Bradshaw
HBO

I can watch Sex and the City for days, I can watch the same re-run for around 150 times, and I will still enjoy it as if it was the first time watching it. This may seem a little obsessive, but honestly, Carrie Bradshaw is a goddess in the journalism world. I want to be her, live in NY, write my own column, etc. But until then, I'll sit in the lecture hall catching myself people watching and realize that I'm more like Carrie Bradshaw than I think. These are ten times Carrie Bradshaw has idolized us Odyssey Creators when brainstorming our next great article:

1. We ask questions.

We're basically annoying little reporters that are always asking questions . . . These questions may be ridiculous, but how else are we going to find material to write on -- how are we able to grow as writers? We need to understand what goes on in other's minds. Questions are fun, at least to us.

2. We seek the truth.

It seems we keep asking questions because at the end of the day, this will all add up and the truth will eventually surface. I mean, this is what we live for, this is what Carrie lives for: questions & truth.

3. Sometimes we use our friends for inspiration.

We need them more than they know . . . Hey, our Odyssey article is due tomorrow . . . "Hey, let's meet up for drinks," because I need advice, inspiration, and a story to tell. I'll title the article Why Tuesday Night Is The New Friday Night.

4. And then there are relationships.

Or the lack-there-of? So much is taught and learned from relationships and Carrie pretty much had it all figured out -- well kind of. We kind of think we have it all figured out, but not so much. But hey, here we are thinking we can't take on the future.

5. And of course food, a lot of food.

I can't count how many articles I have read about food or why we need to drink chocolate milk in the shower. But hey, Carrie understands the need for food, and we can thank her for that. She's here to give us light at the end of the Odyssey creators' tunnel.

6. Coffee is our motivation.

Give me coffee or give me death. (I used this GIF to get the point across, I do not mean to offend anyone by it. Love for all!)

7. We are always learning from other's articles.

We like to talk about other's article because of the different perspectives on a situation. It gives Odyssey creators something in common to talk about -- we love to "gossip" and promote other's greatness!

8. Friends don't always understand us because we're always creating.

Please don't hate us because we've taken on one more things in this crazy mess we call life. This brings us joy and yes, deadline come before going out. "I'm Sorry, I can't."

9. It's tryinh coming up material sometimes.

Even with all the questions we ask and inspirations from our friends, the lack of our relationships, and food, we still end up struggling with what to write about. Draft after draft, and yet still nothing is coming together . . . Until we get something in because we're under pressure. We feel you, Bradshaw.

10. We are always stressed to meet deadlines

We are trying because we want to be great. Life can get in the way. Yet, just like anything else, we want to make this a big priority but sometimes, it just doesn't work out and it's stressful. But if Carrie can get through it, so can we!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
