Drinking hates us but we love it.

10 Thoughts You Have Before Going Out
The Wire

As of 2013 the population in Milledgeville was 19,256. The small size of the college town gives us college students a very limited number of things to do for fun. Some of the common activities include exploring places like Bartrum and Greenway. On any Tuesday or Thursday however, you can find downtown invaded by the student population of Milledgeville. The most common activity here is drinking! I know it's hard to believe you know here in a college town, but there is a lot of drinking that occurs! So, here is a list of things that we college kiddos think before we go out on a regular drinking night.

1. "I really can't go out! I have that quiz tomorrow and that thing for that class!"

The excuses that you can list before you go out are endless. "I have a quiz!" "I need to write that paper!" Your friends always find a way to end all those excuses and convince you to leave.

2. "OK, maybe I can just go to the pre-game then come back and study!"

Personally, this is always an excuse that I come up with because I always think that if I just go to the pre-game I will see my friends and have a little fun then do work. But, let's be honest...you're just setting yourself up.

3. "Did I drink enough water today?"

Tip 1001 of drinking: drink water!!! I am always concerned that I didn't hydrate enough for my system to take alcohol.

4. "Did I eat dinner? Maybe I should eat more..."

Tip 1002: Eat food! The food absorbs the alcohol. This is always the point pre going out where I am, like, wait... did I eat today?

5. "Well, what should I wear? It's a Thursday but I am kinda feeling a t-shirt..."

A plus about Milly... the casual attire of going out.

6. "OK, I am ready to go! Wait, who's going?? Maybe I shouldn't because not a lot of people are going."

Another plus about Milly, it's an extremely small student population and the likelihood of you seeing at least 5 of your friends is 100 percent.

7. "Let's be real, I live in Milly, there are always people out."

8. You're at the pre-game and you're having fun with all your friends and you think "Well...maybe I could go downtown for a just a bit!"

The logic here is self-explanatory. You are with your friends and having fun and feeling yourself at this point. All they have to do is say "Go dt with us!" And you hop on the bandwagon.

9. "This was the best idea ever."

10. In Velvet/Chop/Capital: "Why did I do this? Why am I here? I am so regretting this tomorrow at my 8:00 a.m. quiz..."

A little bit of the alcohol begins to wear off and you start to realize that you probably shouldn't have done this and you will most likely want to cry in the morning when you wake up for your 8:00 a.m. with the worst headache of your life.

We all have that love/hate relationship with going out. We love drinking until the next morning and drinking hates us. But, it's a fun time and hanging out with friends is always fun. Be sure to make smart choices the next time you go out or drink!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
