10 Thoughts While Re-Watching "Gossip Girl"

I've recently decided to re-watch "Gossip Girl." If you've never watched this show before, it is basically a soap opera of a bunch of elite Upper West Side high school students. As dumb as it sounds, it is definitely worthy of your time. While re-watching it, I noticed a few things.

1. How is it possible that these underage teenagers have such easy access to alcohol?!

When the character's start the show they are still in high school -- they aren't even 18 yet. How is it possible that every bar serves them drinks without even carding them.

2. On that note -- how do they go out every night but still get a 4.0 and get into Ivy League colleges.

Can they teach me their ways?

3. Why do their parents put up with them?

I know it is a common high school trend to be rude to your parents, but the upper west side takes it to a new level.

4. Who has time for such elaborate breakfasts in the morning?

It appears that no morning is left without a huge spread of breakfast foods. Do they wake up hours before school just to eat? And then they eat a piece of toast when there is much more appetizing food on the table.

5. Why wasn't Dorota Gossip Girl?

She literally knows everyone and everything. It would make complete sense. But that would mean going against Miss Blair and Dorota would never.

6. Why is Dan called "Lonely Boy?"

He somehow always ends up with a girl and in the end he ends up with the girl...even if they are sort of related...

7. Blair is always right.

As much as you want to hate her you just can't. She has just the right amount of poise and evil.

8. Why did the producers have to change Jenny?

She started off so normal and nice and then within an episode she became the definition of crazy. I miss the old Jenny Humphrey

9. No group of friends can be this perfect. It just isn't possible.

And last, but not least...

This show is completely fictional and could never actually happen.

But may "Gossip Girl" live on forever. Xoxo "Gossip Girl."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
