The Saturday night variety show, loved by so many, got its start in Chile in 1962 and was originally called “Sábados Gigantes.” Eventually, the show was picked up in the U.S., and its name was changed to “Sábado Gigante.” For the last 30 years, Latinos across the U.S. have tuned into “Sábado Gigante” every Saturday at 8 p.m. In this time, the show’s host, Don Francisco, has become an important role model for Latinos all over the globe. For the last 53 years, this incredible man and his hard-working team have encouraged laughs, family values, and unity.
Now, we bid Don Francisco and the entire “Sábado Gigante” team a farewell and a job well done.
