pring break is over and the end of the semester is so close...yet so far away. With only a few weeks left things are dwindling down and somehow becoming more stressful than ever. Here are some of the thoughts that have been running through my mind lately as I think about what will be happening in the next few weeks of my life.

1. It's Spring...why is it not sunny and 75 degrees outside?

We have had a few nice days but for the most part, Spring is just higher temperatures which aren't actually as warm as they feel because it never stops pouring down rain. It makes it really hard to get up in the morning and go to class when you know you are going to have to walk through the pouring down rain.

2. When all of your professors each assign 5 homework assignments, 3 research papers, and an exam all due on the same day.

I'm not sure why all professors seem to do this, but I tend to not have that much homework to do throughout the semester until just a few weeks before it is over and then I get completely slammed. You had all semester to give me these assignments! Why wait until now?

3. When you literally start counting down how many weeks, days, and maybe even hours you have left of the semester.

Exactly 3 weeks until my classes are finally over! Then there's finals week...let's not talk about finals week...

4. When you pray for your class to get canceled and it actually happens.

I may be praying for a cancellation to catch up on more work...but I will probably use it to catch up on more sleep instead. Either way, it is the best feeling in the world when this happens as the semester is winding down.

5. You start waiting until the very last minute to do everything you need to do.

6. What classes am I taking next semester? Should I already be registered for classes? How many credits do I need to graduate?

7. Turning in assignments the last week of classes like...

8. Realizing just how close finals week really is

...but I'm still working on my 10-page research papers due the week before!!!

9. Monday morning of finals week.

10. When it's all finally over.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
