I know I'm not the only one who has overly worried parents. Here are some things you might understand:
1. Hearing, "Honey I trust you, just not other people."
2. Forgetting to text your mom/dad that you made it home safe and thinking, "sh*t"
3. Not wanting to tell them that you're getting sick because then they start drugging you up with meds and googling every symptom in case you needed to be rushed to the hospital.
4. Leaving the house and receiving those "Where are you?" texts.
5. Going out with your friends and coming home at 3 A.M. to your parents looking out the window as you get out your friend's car.
6. Getting dropped off somewhere and seeing your parents wait outside for 10 minutes before leaving
7. Telling you parents a funny story about something you did and getting a 30-minute lecture about all the dangerous things that could've happened.
8. When it gets cold outside and not being able to leave the house until you were covered from head to toe.
9. Getting questioned before and after you go somewhere with your friends
10. Hearing, "We worry because we love you."
I know my parents mean well and use the whole "Its because we love you" to explain how paranoid they get, but until I have my own children, I still won't understand.
