1. My food is our food.
We buy food in bulk from Costco knowing that we are hosts in our own room. My Easy Mac is your Easy Mac, your chips and salsa are my chips and salsa, and so on.
2. The ultimate Netflix compromise.
It's our TV, so every day is filled with hour-long struggles choosing what movie or show to watch. If I'm in the mood for a comedy, and you're in the mood for a chick flick, we'll just watch Mean Girls and call it a day. But not all of the compromises are that simple.
3. The ultimate delivery compromise.
If one of us wants Dominos, and the other wants Chinese, we either flip a coin or we starve. If we go down, we go down together.
4. Understanding the binge eating.
I'm not above waking up at two in the morning and reheating an entire quart of Lo Mein. You're just going to need to understand that. And I won't judge you for eating an entire loaf of bread in one sitting. Oh wait. That was me, too.
5. "What happened last night?"
Whether we were together or not, I know what went down when you stumbled into our room in the middle of the night. I know where you left your wallet, I know how much mac and cheese you ate in one sitting, and I know that you fell asleep in all of your clothing. I got you on the recap.
6. Having our own Joan Rivers (RIP) to make sure our outfits look okay.
Because you can't wear stripes with a flannel, except in certain situations. And a smokey eye doesn't work with your Victoria's Secret sweatsuit. Hot pink socks have been out since we were twelve and yes, you are wearing too much denim.
7. Having another mom to wake you up for classes in the morning.
This is especially effective when you two have classes together. Because one of us will literally be dragging the other out of bed. We are not sitting through this three-hour class alone.
8. Seeing each other at our absolute worst.
It's important to have someone there for you, even when all you want is to be alone. Believe it or not, a shoulder to cry on makes any struggle a hell of a lot easier to cope with. Knowing you have someone on your side is more helpful than you think.
9. Seeing each other at our absolute best.
If that glow is poppin' or your eyebrows are literally slaying that day, just know I'll be there to compliment you. It's our job as roommates, and friends, to build each other up, so I got you.
10. Always having a special bond.
We've been through some shit together. We've made each other laugh about as many times as we've made each other mad, and it has only made our friendship grow. All the things that we've been through together have only brought us closer and we both know we'll always have a life-long friend.
