Coming back from fall break is probably one of the most depressing times of the year. After enjoying a few days of forgetting about your current responsibilities, you realize that you have not studied for the midterm the day after break ends. Frantic studying, late nights, and aggressive amounts of coffee.
There is literally no plus side to midterm season.
As I am sitting here trying to study for the three midterms I have in the next few days along with the paper and project I have due, I have created a list of ten things that I would rather do.
1. Burn my tongue on hot coffee
I'm one of those people that gets too excited to drink their coffee and burns the taste buds right off of my tongue. Losing my sense of taste for a few days is still more bearable than failing three midterms.
2. Stub my toe
The pain is extraordinary, but also temporary. How long is that E on your transcript going to last?
3. Get a paper cut
This one kind of goes hand in hand with studying, but if 100 paper cuts meant I could skip all of my midterms, I'd probably agree.
4. Walk across campus in the frigid Michigan winter
My face is only temporarily numb, right?
5. Hear a spoiler for my favorite TV show
When you have yet to watch the new episode of your favorite show and the whole world knows what happened, you're bound to find out. In comparison to potentially failing out of college, I can deal.
6. Forget my headphones when I'm working out
The only way I can tolerate running longer than one minute is blasting Kiss Me Thru the Phone by Soulja Boy.
7. Forget my umbrella on the stormiest day of the year
When all you have for cover is your denim jacket, you're in for a wet ride.
8. Realize my laptop is at 10% when there is no outlet around
Guess I have to use the Microsoft app on my phone, but hey, at least I'm not taking a midterm.
9. Run a marathon
Running away from my responsibilities like:
10. Trip in front of a cute guy
EVERY time I see someone attractive and attempt to look cool, calm, and collected, I trip as if there was a ghost hole in front of me.
