We take the little things for granted.

A lot of times I find myself taking some of the most important things in my life for granted. One of those things being my significant other. When we have something so amazing for such a long time, it can be easy to just get used to the idea that you have someone special. We shouldn't forget to thank them for the things they do for us. I came up with a list of simple things every boyfriend does, but we almost always forget to thank them for.

1. Being my personal photographer

Thank you for always taking a million pictures of me when I ask. We know you hate it, but we are sure glad you do it.

2. Buying me food

This seems obvious, but it's easy to forget to thank you. Even if it's a small snack or a fancy dinner, thank you.

3. Listening

Thank you for listening to my long rants that you could care less about.

4. Support

Thank you for keeping me up when I am down. Whether I act like it or not, you truly keep me together.

5. Forgiveness

Thank you for the times when you forgive me when I don't deserve it.

6. Time

Thank you for giving me time that you will never get back.

7. Borrowing your clothes

This sounds cliche, but it is true. Thank you for always letting me borrow a shirt or sweats even when you know you may never get them back.

8. Waiting for me

Thank you for always waiting for me when I do my hair, makeup, or any other thing that may slow me down.

9. Driving

Thank you for always being the one who drives me around so I don't have to. If it weren't for me, you'd have a lot more gas in your tank.

10. Giving me very sound advice

Thank you for the advice that no one else has the courage to give me. I may not always want to hear it, but I am thankful for it.

Being appreciated is important. Boyfriends do so much for it and we don't even know it sometimes. It's easy to let people in our lives go unappreciated. Take two seconds out of your day to say thank you to the one who truly keeps you going.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
