Throughout the year, my mom does so much for me. Whether she is sending me care packages at school, listening to my complaints, doing all of my laundry when I com home for breaks or always being just a phone call away, she is always there for me. Being away from home this year on Mother's Day makes me realize how much I truly appreciate everything she does for me, but it also makes me sad that I'm not home to celebrate with her. The cards sent home don't nearly come close to how much moms are appreciated, so here's 10 things to thank your mom for on Mother's Day:

1. For being my go-to

Whether it's 6 a.m. or 11 p.m., I can always call you. No matter what time of day, you're always there for me.

2. For giving me the chance to follow my dreams

Thank you for pushing me to try my best and to chase after what I've always wanted.

3. For always making me laugh

No matter how upset I am about something, I can always count on you to send me something funny to make me laugh.

4. For always having the best advice

Even though I don't always admit it, you have the best advice.

5. For being my best friend

You're the best friend i could ever ask for. No matter how many mistakes I make or how many times I mess up, you still love me regardless. You're always there for me, and most importantly, you're my best friend.

6. For teaching me important life lessons

You have taught me some of the most valuable things, and for that I am extremely grateful.

7. For being a person I can always count on

Any time of any day you are there. You drop what you're doing and help me out.

8. For always listening to me

Even if I'm being extremely dramatic or ranting, you always listen and don't interrupt.

9. For everything you do for our family

Cooking, cleaning, laundry, picking me up from school, taking us to appointments, and somehow still balancing your job is incredible. You have done so much for our family, and you're the glue that keeps us together.

10. For being my role model

You are the kind of mom I want to be. You're always there for us, but you also give us space to grow. You push us to follow our dreams, and you do anything you can to help us reach them.
