My sister Lindsay came to visit last weekend and she couldn't believe that I have been going to school here for almost two years now and have never been to the Biltmore. On the second day she was here, on Saturday, we went to the Biltmore. After 8 long hours of walking and a record breaking amount of steps taken, a lot of pictures taken, and a lot of money spent on tickets and food, it turned out to be a really fun day and I am so glad we went! If you make sure you see and do everything even though you have to pay a lot for a ticket, it is definitely worth it!
1. Walk Through The Beautiful Gardens
We started off by walking through the beautiful gardens, the tulips were blooming and it was the first weekend of spring.2. Go On The Walking Tour With The Audio Guide
Then we spent a few hours doing the walking tour, where we got to see everything from a bowling alley, a pool, to a library and so many more rooms with beautiful, paintings, tapestries and architecture.3. Go Shopping In All Of The Stores
After our tour, we then walked around in the stable where all the shops were. We both tried a heavenly piece of chocolate from the candy shop and it was to die for!4. Look At The Beautiful Mountain Views
From many places on the property, you could see the beautiful mountains in the distance.
5. Take Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures
There were many picturesque and beautiful spots on the property to take pictures!
6. Eat A Lot of The Food
I had one of the best hot dogs I have eaten in awhile when we ate lunch at the Biltmore Estate. Then, while we were at Antler Hill Village, we had really good ice cream at the Creamery.
7. Drive Through The Property, It's Beautiful
On our way to Antler Hill Village we drove on the property for awhile. We saw beautiful horses, gorgeous mountain views, more tulips and other flowers blooming and even waterfalls. The drive through the property was beyond breathtaking!
8. Visit The Farm and Carriage House
The Farm and Carriage House is located next to Antler Hill Village and we were able to look at old tractors and carriages from the Vanderbilts' time.
9. Visit Antler Hill Village
At Antler Hill Village we walked around the shops and even ate ice cream at the Creamery. If you are of age to drink alcohol, there is also a wine tasting at the winery as well!
10. Visit the wedding exhibit at Antler Hill Village
For a limited time only there is a wedding exhibit at Antler Hill Village! We got to see the beautiful wedding dresses (and the replicas of them) that were passed down throughout the Vanderbilt family!
