For a girl who gave up coffee cold turkey, I've had my fair share of difficult times when it comes to staying awake and just having enough energy to do my daily tasks. Hopefully these tricks I've learned to help keep me awake and my energy going all day will help you!
1. Get a good night's rest!
Obviously one of the most simple things to do to keep you energized for the day. It's hard when in school and working full time, but try getting at least 8 hours of sleep per night to feel well rested!
2. Drink tea
My personal favorite, tea is a great alternative to coffee that still can give you the energy you need with a different taste!
3. Go for a walk/ jog
This one's a little more time-consuming, but will give you energy as well as help your health! Deff try going for a walk/ jog/ run into your schedule!
4. Stay hydrated
This is one of the simplest things to do: Drink water! Staying hydrated is a key way to keeping yourself energized all day!
5. Take a shower
When you're feeling like you can't stay up any longer, a cold shower can give you the energy you need to keep going!
6. Take a (short) power nap
When I say short I really mean it! Power naps are only about 20 minutes long and will leave you feeling more awake, but long naps will make you feel even more tired.
7. Eat some chocolate
Chocolate has caffeine in it, making it a great treat to keep you going! Plus, who doesn't love chocolate?!
8. Jam out
Music is always something that can get your veins pumping so listen, sing, and dance to help you wake up!
9. Eat foods that give you energy
Bananas, oatmeal, yogurt, strawberries, spinach, kiwi, whole grain cereal, and so many more! Try them to give you an extra boost when you need it!
10. Simply stand up
Get off your butt and stand for a little to help the blood circulate and keep you going!
