Spring break is a time full of vacation, friends, and lots of relaxation. However, not everyone goes on vacation during this break, and that's okay. There are plenty of ways you can enjoy yourself over this vacation from school even if you're not flying out to Mexico or Florida for the week. Here are 5 things to do if you're planning on staying home for spring break:

1. Visit a friend at a different school

Most of the time, it seems like your spring break does not match up with anyone else's. It seems like your spring break is super early, and everyone else doesn't go on school vacation until weeks later. You can take advantage of this, however, by going to visit your friend from home at their college.

2. Hit the gym

Since midterms were right before your break, you might have lost some motivation to go to the gym. Now that exams and work are put on hold for a little, you can find that motivation to hit the gym again.

3. Go shopping

Spring break is definitely a time for relaxation, and there's no better way to do this than by doing a little shopping. Also, winter is ending and it's time to find new spring clothes to wear to class.

4. Catch up on sleep

This is probably the most important one. With all those exams and homework you've had to do right before the break, you've probably compromised sleep. Now you can sleep in your home bed, which probably feels like a cloud compared to the dorm bed you have to deal with most of the year

5. Get ahead on homework

This might not sound as appealing, but since you have some free time, why not try to get ahead so you're not so stressed out when you get back?

6. Hang out with friends that have the same break as you

Although many of your home friends might not have the same break as you, some of them must overlap in some way. Catch up with some friends you haven't seen in a while.

7. Have a spa day

Since you're not going on vacation and spending money on plane tickets and piña coladas, you should splurge and have a nice long day of relaxation. It will make you feel like you're on vacation!

8. Do all of your laundry

Admit it, if you're anything like me, laundry has been compromised for way too long instead of studying. So, now that you have free time, take some time to wash all of your clothes, sheets, and towels.

9. Restock your dorm room

Now is the perfect time to restock on snacks, clothes, cleaning supplies, and all the necessities you need for your room. And there's no one better to help you with this than your mom.

10. Have a movie marathon

One day, maybe when the weather isn't too great, just spend a day in your basement binge watching movies that you just don't have time to watch while you're at school.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
