Working in the service industry teaches you a lot of things, and one of those is how to deal with annoying customers. Working as a barista, you learn how to deal with a lot of things, but there are some things that just get under your skin. Here are some things that all baristas despise.

1. When you order off the "secret menu."

Here's a fun fact: the secret menu DOSEN'T EXIST. If it's not on our menu, we can't make it for you unless you give us a recipe. And even then I'm going to be annoyed with you.

2. When you ignore my greeting.

"Hi! How are you today?"
"Give me a dark roast with an extra shot, black"

3. When you get mad about our size names.

I have seriously had people scream at me about how they don't understand grande and venti. You can say large! It's not like I don't understand what the words small, medium and large mean.

4. When you ask me to remake your drink over and over.

Sometimes we make mistakes, and in that case, we are happy to remake your drink. But if we made the drink exactly how you asked and you still don't like it, it's not our fault. We aren't mind readers or magicians.

5. When you come in 15 minutes before closing and order six frappucinos.

What did I do to you to make you hurt me like this?

6. When you give me a complicated order and don't leave a tip.

The least you could do is slip me a dollar for making your half-caf nonfat 2 pump no foam extra hot no whip skinny vanilla latte.

7. When you complain about your beverage being overpriced.

Hey, I get it. Coffee is expensive, but what am I supposed to do about that? It only makes the situation more awkward for me. If it's that big of a deal, McDonald's coffee is a dollar.

8. When you order a "poor man's latte."

For those who don't know, a poor man's latte is a few shots of espresso over ice (sometimes with a few pumps of syrup) in a large cup. Then, people will take themselves to the condiment bar and fill up that large cup with cream and save themselves a dollar. You're not being slick buddy. Also, half and half lattes are really gross. Especially when iced.

9. When you order something that only Starbucks has... at a different coffee shop.

This is a campus coffee shop, so no. I don't have refereshers, pumpkin spice or the "pink drink." Stop asking.

10. And finally, when you pronouce espresso as "expresso."

Just go home, Susan.

Just a disclaimer, this article is for fun, but these are things that really annoy baristas. So next time, maybe don't do these annoying things, and your barista might have a better day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
