Live Fast Die Young

10 Things That All Fast Walkers Can Relate To

There are two types of people in the world: Walkers and Speed Walkers. It's a blessing and a curse to be a speed walker but either way, you love living life in the fast lane because you're always a few steps ahead. Here are a few things all fast walkers can relate to.

1. People expect you to lead.

You might not be a leader but everyone thinks you are solely because you're always in front. Whenever you and your group go to new places, you're expected to take charge. In reality, however, you're just as lost as everyone else.

2. You miss all the conversations.

You're always at least 5 steps ahead and you hear the laughter coming from your friends. You start slowing down to catch up with their conversations, but within a few seconds, you're already ahead of them again. You become low key salty that there's so many inside jokes being made without you.

3. You get impatient easily.

You just can't wait for people every time you walk in a group. Every time you wait for your friends, you're just itching to keep walking. You try to tell yourself that you're not walking too fast, they're all just super slow.

4. You get lonely when you walk.

You wish you could be a part of the group, but it will never happen. You'll always be a lone wolf when you walk, that's just the way things are.

5. You always end up leaving everyone behind at the crosswalk.

You're given 20 seconds to cross but you make it in three every time. When you look back to check on your friends, a handful of them are debating whether or not they should run to the other side with only two seconds left and the rest are waiting for the next light.

6. You hate when people take their time.

You have somewhere to be and you can't be bothered by sluggish humans. You struggle to stay calm when there's no way around but you get irritated nonetheless.

7. For every tour you go on, you're always next to or ahead of the tour guide.

It's already a given that you'll be BFFs with the tour guide by the end because you're the only one who can keep up. You really get to know the guide within the hours you spend together. However, You always have to remind yourself that without the guide, you get lost, so you try to take slower strides.

8. People always ask why you're rushing.

You're not rushing, that's just your regular pace! You enjoy the journey as much as every other person... you just enjoy it a lot faster.

9. You have no problem being on time.

A place that would typically take 15 minutes to walk to would only take 10 for you to get there at a leisurely pace and seven if you walk briskly. You're able to take your time and not stress about being late. It's a win-win!

10. The only people who can keep up with you are light joggers.

Joggers look at you in awe when you walk past them. While they're panting and tired, you're not even breaking a sweat.

Life flies by for fast walkers, which reminds us to enjoy every moment.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
