You never thought you would be split apart from the one person who understands you the most in the entire world. You never expected to face the world without your best friend by your side.

You never expected to text your sister as much as you do in college. She’s the person you are forever thankful for and forever talking to.

1. Did you take my shirt?

Most likely, yes. You can't just leave cute stuff around the house or else I will take it back to school. You should know this by now.

2. I’m going to send you a few shirts and tell me which one I should buy?

"WE already have a lot of shirts in that color, so get the second one."

3. Answer my FaceTime I’m bored.

Caution: be prepared to be on the phone for an hour, maybe more, of just pointless conversations. Something I wouldn't trade for the world.

4. What should I wear?

“The denim skirt with that cute white top we bought together… oh wait, I have it. Show me your closet, I forget what you have.”

5. What should I eat for dinner?

Just because you aren't with me doesn't mean you stop making decisions with me.

6. Which picture do I look the best in? I want to post it.

Aka I don’t trust what my friends are saying, and I know you would never make me look bad.

7. I’m craving food from our place right now.

It always seems like sisters have that one place that will only be theirs, and theirs only. Sorry, mom and dad, but you can't sit with us.

8. Can you bring the sweater home that you’re wearing today, I want it.

The key to stopping this is to NOT send Snapchats when you know you’re wearing something you stole or something you know she will want.

9. OK, so today…

Sisters will always be the first to sit there while you vent…no matter how long it takes for the story to finally be over.

10. I miss you.

I was already thinking it, but I miss you too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
