1. If something is wrong, it's automatically your fault.
All hostesses, buffet/salad bar workers, and servers know that if something goes wrong, it's their fault. Who cares about the behind-the-scenes people who probably messed up their food??
2. You don't have to use the bathroom until a rush.
There's a line out the door and 2 open booths and all of a sudden you have to pee, like now.
3. People take their food very seriously.
If you get in between a hungry man and his burger, you may or may not get trampled.
4. People are messy.
You never see the mess being made, but it's always there waiting for you.
5. You might not like kids that much anymore.
Between smells, screams, and messes, little kids just might not be your favorite thing anymore.
6. You bond with your co-workers over mishaps.
The trainee spilled a whole tub of ranch dressing and even though you're super mad, you've been there. And you'll laugh about it later on.
7. The Sunday lunch rush.
Need I say more??
8. Eating the same meal 5 times a week.
If you have an all day shift, sometimes you just have to order lunch (or dinner) to get you through the day. Chicken tenders and a side salad won't look the same after a week or so, and the smell might make you want to puke.
9. Discounts and coupons.
Most places only give out discounts, like senior, from a certain time, and if it's not that time, or the coupon expired, you might get yelled at.
10. Burns
If you can make it working at a restaurant and not get burnt, you're basically a superhuman.
