It's the end of October, a few days right before Halloween, the wonderful holiday of dressing up and becoming someone else for the evening. But it also means scary movies, telling scary stories, and the beginning or middle of midterm season for us college students. Boohoo.
Midterms... that honestly flash right before your eyes
Everyone knows that feeling: that slight miscommunication from the lecture you had last week. When you realize that your third midterm is two days away, and that realization that you haven't touched your notes AT ALL. Because you've been deciding on your Halloween costume and making those plans. I legit just took three exams a few days ago, and forgot about the fourth exam in a few days.
Periods... especially those that come without warning
I don't know what can be worse. One day I'm happy and energetic. The next hour, there's a murder scene in my pants. And worst of all, you can't clean that one up in a few hours.
Napping... for WAY too long
I just wanted to sleep for a good 30 minutes so that I can be fresh before my next 5:30 pm class. But when I check the time on my phone, an alarming double digit stares back at me. It's 10:00 PM already??? Thus, why naps never work for me. #lessonlearned.
Migraines... that come out of nowhere
I don't know if it's just the stress of college, or not getting enough good food since university meal plans can be a heck of a torture adventure, but I've been having a bundle of migraines coming my way. It might be PMS, it might be stress, it might be because of my insomnia episodes, but it's not something I want during school. There is no off switch as much as I want it to have.
Nightmares... because who wants those?
You know those dreams that seem way too real? Those that got real people, real locations, real memories? Yes, those... Half of those wake me up and grasp at the air and at my own skin or to call my own close friends to assure me that none of the stuff that happened actually happened. It's THAT scary. It's THAT concerning.
Running out of soap... or any sort of supplies
What's worse than not having money? Having to spend money when you don't have much to even spend on keeping yourself alive. College supplies are more expensive than the Walgreens on Park avenue.
Waking up sneezing, coughing... like there's no end
Seriously, how can I even go to lectures if I can't even breathe or hear myself think? Everything is stuffed, and what's worse is when professors try their best to give you a living hell of a lecture, by calling on you or staring at you when you explode into a coughing fit.
My phone... lost its life
Now I have to socialize with strangers???? What about my spotify playlist??? And my friends?????
When WiFi doesn't listen to you... like, can you BE any slower?
I'm trying to get that A and submit my assignment. How come the WIFI connection is so bad from my dorm room?
