Whether you're going to college or moving to a new city, you'll definitely miss these ten things about Lancaster.

1. Central Market.

You know you definitely miss Lancaster when you wake up on a Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday and immediately want to go to Market. With so many things to explore, who wouldn't miss that beautiful place? I know I already do. Grabbing a bagel and a smoothie, then snatching some beautiful flowers to lighten up the place?! I'll take that for 500, please.

2. Driving the back roads.

I can't think of anything better than listening to John Mayer while driving the curvy back roads of Lancaster. Especially when the sun hits the farms so perfectly you can't think of anything more serene and peaceful. Am I the only one who doesn't mind getting behind a horse and buggy?

3. Downtown Lancaster.

First Friday! Prince Street Cafe! Rick's Place (lol)! The Fulton Theatre! Cafe One Eight! Rachel's Creperie! I could go on and on. There's so much to do in downtown Lancaster. If you're a Lancaster native, you know it's the best place for photo shoots. Senior pictures, anyone? But seriously, so many cute shops and restaurants popping up. You definitely miss sitting and people watching while hearing the hustle and bustle of little Lancaster.

4. How close Lancaster is located to Lititz

While Lancaster might not be awarded the "Coolest Small Town In America" like Lititz, it doesn't mean you don't miss it any less. Lancaster is so nicely located to other small towns, which is easy to venture out to, which is just another reason to miss Lancaster. BUT Lititz is awesome too. If you missed First Friday, you have a chance to come to Second Friday! And then go and eat Greco's Ice Cream! Or Wilbur Chocolate! Then go to the park! The possibilities are endless all around.

5. You see someone everywhere you go.

You know how you always say, "Of course when I look awful I'm gonna see everyone I know." It doesn't even matter what you look like because you're bound to see someone you know anywhere you go! I feel like that's one of the coolest parts about Lancaster. It's very friendly and familiar. Everyone knows everyone and has a connection. So when you move away and don't know many people, you definitely miss the warmth of your family and friends when you're out and about.

6. The sunsets and sunrises.

Everyone always says their town's sunsets and sunrises are the prettiest. But honestly, Lancaster's are the best. And you know you'll never miss it because it'll be on everyone's Snapchat story. Regardless, no sunset will top Lancaster's. And you'll always crave the beautiful colors reflecting off your beautiful town.

7. Waking up to the smell of cow manure.

If you live in Lancaster, your nose has become immune to the awful smell that is cow manure. And chances are you live close to a farm. But honestly, I'd rather smell that than car fumes in a city. When you move away, you'll definitely notice the absence of the farm smell and the sound of the cows and chickens in the morning.

NO. I AM NOT AMISH. I DO NOT LIVE ON A FARM. When you move away from Lancaster, these are things you have to clarify. *Eye roll*.

8. The food.

Oh man. The worst thing is moving away from your favorite place with all your favorite foods and getting a craving for it. No one makes Long John's any better. No one has better farm fresh food. And...Shady Maple. That's all I have to say.

9. Regulars.

Whether you're a regular at your favorite restauant or coffee shop, or you have your favorite regulars that come to see you, it's hard moving away and you come to miss this the most. Now, who's gonna know I take my coffee with cream and two sugars without reading my mind?! The anxiety and sadness are real.

10. Wawa/Sheetz.

Okay. Now while there's a huge epidemic as to which is better, that currently doesn't matter (it's Sheetz if you're wondering). But honestly, these franchises are something you might shed a tear about when you move away. Mac and cheese bites, chocolate milkshakes, appetizer samples... they're only good if they're from Wawa or Sheetz.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
