10 Things I'm Thankful For This Holiday Season
The Huffington Post

With Thanksgiving just passed and Christmas coming up, I like to take some extra time out of my crazy days to appreciate all that I have to be thankful for. It can be so easy to get swept up with the tide and spend too much time envying someone else than to take a step back and really realize how good you've got it.

1) My Family

I'm sure everyone thinks their family is kind of out there but sometimes my family is down right crazy. I love it though. They may be nuts, but they're my nuts and I'm so blessed to have so many people to stand behind me and love me.

2) My Job

It might be organized chaos at times but I'm so thankful for my job and I'm so lucky to be working in a field I'm so passionate about. I love all of our customers and I have the absolute best coworkers.

3) My Friends

I have a very close circle of friend sin my life and I could not be more grateful for their support. It's great to have people in your life that you can count on to tell you the truth when you're being crazy, but also egg you on and instigate plotting.

4) My Boyfriend

There's nothing more beautiful in life than finding someone to build a life with. It's been a wild ride and I can't wait to see what the future has in store.

5) My Home

Growing up I only ever dreamed of leaving town but here I am, excited to be back. This own is where I grew up and now where I'm learning how to live life.

6) Being an American

It's easy to get swept up in picking side sides on elections and social matters but at the end of the day I'm thankful to live in this country. Things aren't always perfect and ideal but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else than the home of the free.

7) My Health

It's been a pretty crazy 18 months and sometimes things are still kind of sketchy every now and then but I'm doing a lot better than so many other people out there. I'm alive and for the most part in good health and I couldn't ask for anything more than that.

8) Netflix

The always welcome device for procrastination. You bet I finished Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in 48 hours and now I've moved on to simultaneously binging on old episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Netflix's new original series: The Crown. I'm thinking of just hibernating/binge watching shows until spring.

9) School

So school is sometimes the toughest thing to be thankful for because it causes so much stress and unhappiness, but I'm still thankful to be able pursue a higher education and work for a better future.

10) Winter Break

It's been a crazy semester and I'm ready for a well deserved break before returning to the reality that is Spring Semester. I'm ready for a month of no school, extra hours at work, birthday festivities, and holiday celebrations with my family.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
