10 Things I'll Never Do Again

I'll never do them again, but I don't regret the time I did do them.

1. Apologizing for being myself

I used to do this so much I actually started to deteriorate. I began to apologize so much, that's all I used to say before talking. "Oh, sorry for bothering!" "Sorry for being rude..." Sorry for feeling like that..." You have no reason to apologize for feeling a certain way.

2. Third wheel a couple

One of oldest friends who used to be utterly smitten with his girlfriend to the point where I couldn't hang with him without her and I believe I spent so much time around the two of them I've become literally sick of hanging out with more than 3 people at once. Okay maybe not three, but you get the point.

3. Spend money at a Kiosk at the mall

A lesson I had to learn as a kid growing up is that everyone in the mall wants your money, and usually, the product is nilpotent in comparison to the money spent.

4. Be interested in someone not interested in themselves

Dating someone who does not have personal goals or a foreseeable future for themselves actually hurts you more than it hurts them

5. Pump gas at alone at night

Not only is this dangerous, but with a little bit of planning you can avoid any risky situations that can arise from that particular scenario.

6. Go to a movie alone

You should dignify yourself and go see a movie alone once but once is enough. It's definitely too awkward to experience again. The one time I did everyone just stared at me and I knew exactly why.

7. Describe in detail my expenses to someone

There are some things that I think should be kept private, and what I spend my money on are among those things. At least when it comes to talking to friends about it, in my opinion, it's better to just keep it on the DL. What you spend your money on is your business.

8. Depend on anyone for happiness

I've made a lot of mistakes in my past and depending on someone to be happy is the biggest of them all. I can't think of anything worse I've done. I began to lose myself in the process of the friendship. Did I have a great bond with them? Yes. Did I have a great bond with myself? No.

9. Make a decision when I'm angry

I tend to be impulsive when I'm emotional and 9/10 times, whatever I do impulsively is nothing to be proud of.

10. Call 1-9 a "regret"

Like any experience, you can always learn. There is always a lesson from everything we go through and while you may never want to experience it again, calling it a regret is not good for the soul. It is a learning experience.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
