10 Things I Am Thankful For

The best holiday is approaching and although everyone wants to sing Christmas carols and put up Christmas trees on Nov. 1 (shade intended), Thanksgiving is still an important holiday. Thanksgiving is a holiday to acknowledge what you are thankful for and celebrate the harvest with wonderful food with your family, and no one can judge you. Even though it is good to be thankful everyday, this is the time to stop and reflect on what has happened during the year, and realize the many blessings you have. Here are 10 things that I am thankful for.

1. My education

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to further their education. Some give up on their dreams way before they even have a chance to chase them. I am fortunate enough to have parents would want something better for me, more than they ever had.

2. Family

The OG squad. There is no one that has your back better than family. They will always be there for you to make you laugh, angry, and most of all happy. They are your true support system no matter what you do.

3. Friends

Friends come and go, but the good ones stay around no what matter the circumstances may be. Friends keep you sane, happy, and always remind you that you are not alone in life.

4. Staying Focused

Even though there is a lot going on that could distract me and just make me want to give up, I am thankful that I continue to remain focused and continue to focus my energy and time on things that matter.

5. Faith

Faith is key in everything. When I was sad, confused, happy, or angry, faith kept me grounded and humble, and reminded me that in the end, everything will work out.

6. Failures
There were a lot of things that I have failed or that have failed me, and even though they sucked, I am glad it happened. Failure helped me to realize what is most important and even though it did not work out, at least I tried.

7. Heartaches

The things that broke my heart or really made me upset, helped me to develop the strength that I have today.

8. Growth

All I can say is that I am just thankful that I am not the same person I was a year ago. Growth is very important in college, and if you are not growing then you are not learning. I am thankful for the many lessons that I have learned and look forward to future lessons.

9. Adventures

These are truly the best things that could ever happen in life. The adventures that I went on were not even exotic trips, they were basic, such as 2 a.m. runs to 7 eleven, but they were always fun. These adventures made me realize that I should enjoy my youth while I can.

10. Love

An amazing feeling is when you feel loved and cherished. I am so thankful for the love that I have been shown by my family, friends, and others. Believe it or not, all you need is love to get through life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
