It's that time of year where you suddenly regret signing up for 8 a.m. classes. Waking up early has become way too hard and it may just not be worth leaving the comfort of your bed. Here are my top 10 things to instantly turn any 8 a.m. class into the best part of the week!

1. A Killer Early Morning Playlist

I have a special playlist for those mornings where I need to get out of bed and be ready to start my day. It has my favorite songs and gets me in the right head-space for the day. Try it out, I promise it will make the morning, slightly more bearable.

2. Chocolate Milk

A big glass of chocolate milk always sets my day off in the right direction. It is yummy and nutritious. If you cannot have dairy or you don't enjoy consuming dairy, find a drink that makes you happy and prepared to learn.

3. An Alarm

No sleeping in. An 8 a.m. means that you need to wake up and start moving. Set a realistic alarm, that gives you enough time to get ready and make your commute. If you live on campus then you can sleep in later. If you commute, make sure you give yourself enough time.

4. Actually Eat Breakfast

Eat. Make sure you eat. Eating breakfast is important. It could be something small. Take breakfast to go so you can eat in class. Give your brain enough power to function.

5. Meditation

It's important to take time for yourself in the morning. Wake up 5 minutes early to meditate and empty your headspace. If you are religious, say a prayer. Start the day off right and in a positive mood.

6. Sleep

Sleep is important For growing minds, students need 7-8 hours of sleep, and even more. This means no phones past a certain hour. This also means no lights on or music playing as you sleep. Our brains are constantly stimulated and these things will just keep your brain stimulated. Getting more sleep will also help with anxiety.

7. A Planned Outfit

Take time to check out the weather and plan your outfit the night before. It will help you save time in the morning.

8. Full Backpack

Have your books and laptop in your bag/ backpack the night before. Being fully prepared will make your morning easier so you can just grab and go.

9. Limit From Social Media

Be mindful of how much time you have on social media. Social media can be a distraction in the morning and may also cause your great mood to turn sour.

10. Your Smile

Bring your smile! It's one way to instantly make your morning better!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
