Your 20s are going to be that one stage in your life filled with events such as graduating college, starting your career, finding love, marriage and children. It can be terrifying and exhilarating, but it's a ride that every woman can't wait to experience. Being just 21 years old and having many more years left of this eventful decade only shows the tiny bit of experience I have. However, I've asked various women between the ages 25 and 30 about the things that every 20-something-year-old woman should know:

1. Be nice.

It takes time and energy to be angry and mean. Spread love and kindness to the world. It will affect those around you and bring back happiness to yourself.

2. Stop comparing yourself to others.

Everyone has a different timeline on how they experience things in life. We all have different strengths and weaknesses that makes us unique. Focus only on yourself.

3. Do what you love.

Life is too short to do something you dislike. Even if it brings more income to your pocket, your happiness is much more important than the material things in life can provide.

4. Travel as much you can.

Explore the world as much as possible. It doesn't have to be a luxurious trip to Dubai right away. Just experiencing something new outside your hometown is the best kind of traveling.

5. Save your pennies.

The dreaded B word we all dislike... Budget. Manage your money wisely and save as much as you can. Invest in something you know that is worth your money.

6. Haters gonna hate.

Yes, take advice from Taylor Swift. There are going to be people that are going to try and bring you down. Ignore them, block them from your Facebook and delete their number. Use that beating and keep kicking butt on whatever you do—don't let them bring you down.

7. Be active.

This may be a pain in the butt. However, once we get older, our metabolism changes and can affect us physically and mentally. Exercise reduces our stress levels and helps us maintain our health so we can live a better life once we're older.

8. Chivalry isn't dead.

Do not settle for less! Every woman deserves a man that can prove to her that he is perfect to bring home to her parents. A man who is willing to ask you properly on a date in person, despite what age of technology we're in.

9. Listen.

Listening will not only help in guiding our lives and moving forward in relationships, but it also helps us value advice we receive from others. Listening to our teachings will take us a long way.

10. You learn who your true friends are.

Being 20-something, we all experience new things that can be scary and you might feel alone. However, within time, you know who your true friends are when you need them the most, and they're there with you by your side.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
