Every summer is a new opportunity — especially while you're still in school and you excess free time readily available. With this being my last summer as a student, I've come up with a list of ideas to make the most of my free time, and I'm hoping you guys try out this bucket list too.

Have a picnic

Pack up some fruit, nuts and sandwiches. Throw in some lemonade and beer — along with a blanket. Then, eat outside with your significant other for a cute date!

Go on a hike

Nothing beats looking out over a beautiful mountain in the summertime, except maybe the fact that you walked like ten miles and got in, like, your week's worth of workouts.

Go shopping

My wardrobe is basically only summer clothing, leggings, and sweaters. Summer clothes are — undoubtedly — the best ones there are. Don't miss out on the great fashion that comes every summer.

Take a roadtrip with your friends

Road trips either suck or will be the best times you'll ever have. All you need is the right group of people, a little time off, and a fun path to travel and try new things.

Hit the beach with your family

Family time at the beach is the best type there is. You get to ride waves, jet ski, build sand castles with little siblings, read and suntan. It's simply a must-do every summer.

Go on a crazy ride

Do you know those bungee cord balls at the boardwalk? I'm talking about stuff like that. Go on the craziest, scariest ride you can imagine just to get that adrenaline rush and excitement.

Go swimming

Just go and swim, regardless of if it's in a river, lake or pool. It's refreshing and a unique summer experience.

Catch fireflies

If the summer goes by and you don't catch a single firefly, you'll be missing out on one of the simplest joys in life.

Play some sports

Volleyball, soccer and baseball — really any outdoor sport will do. Just get some friends together and play a laidback game at your local park. It's just as fun as you remember it when you were a kid!

Pick up a new hobby

Just try something new! Maybe you'll decide to learn an art style, learn a new instrument, or learn to cook. Anything will do! Just expand your horizons by trying new things that you always put off.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
