10 Realities, Struggles Every College Student Knows Too Well

If you're a college student you know just how much the struggle is real these days.

Between papers, and studying for exams and dealing with the stress of attempting to be an adult, We do it all and within a strict deadline. College students are the closest thing to superheroes these days. If you're reading this because your scrolling Facebook while not paying attention in class, or procrastinating writing a paper you will definitely agree with these 10 realities of being you:

1. Coffee!!!

You need it. If you came into college a pure freshman detesting coffee's magical powers you now know how foolish you once were. Coffee is the number one survival tactic of any college student.

2. All nighters

I have still not pulled an all nighter, but my sources tell me they are quite popular amongst college kids. I feel like this may be a typical college student stereotype until it happens to me...

3. Going to class hungover

You will ultimately end up having to do this and it sucks every time.

4. 10-20 page papers

If you're assigned a 10-20 page paper you know you're pushing that off until the last possible minute. The feeling of your life be sucked from your very soul as you attempt to do it the night before its due is life changing.

5. Ramen noodles

A cult favorite amongst college students, ramen for breakfast lunch and dinner is the way to go.

6. You read. A lot.

Literally for every class all at the same time. Why do professors feel the need to make us read 60 pages from a textbook at a time!?

7. What is this "down time" you speak of?

You never have free time. You are always studying. You are always doing something that usually isn't fun.

8. Hooking up and never speaking to that person again

A typical college night out 95% of the time leads to you leaving the bar with a guy and having to do the infamous walk of shame the next morning. But the best part is that you will most likely never speak to each other again!

9."I'm dropping out."

When the going gets tough, just begin planning your life for when you get to the point of wanting to drop out. This mindset ultimately leads to a crying phone call with your mom.

10. Failing once or twice.. maybe three times.

You fails tests, get horrible grade on papers but don't worry it happens to everyone.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
