There are so many K-pop bands and artists in the industry that it can be hard to get into. I agree. I was there. It took me a while before I found a band that I could really stick with. So if you want to try to listen to K-pop, here are a few of my hand-picked suggestions that my best friend, Taylor, and I thought of.
1. Got7
They toured in the US and just won an award for Worldwide Performer at the MAM. Their debut was in 2014 with "Girls Girls Girls".
2. Pentagon
Their debut was in 2016 with the song "Gorilla". They had a show before their debut called "Pentagon Maker" which helped them gain more experience in the K-pop industry.
3. BigBang
They debuted in 2006. They're basically veterans of K-pop, have won countless awards, and are gaining worldwide recognition.
4. VAV
They debuted in 2015 with the song "Under the Moonlight."
5. VIXX
Debuted in 2012, they have since filmed a few reality shows and won a total of 29 awards so far.
6. BTS
They debuted in 2012 with "No More Dream." They are currently appearing on a bunch of American TV shows and gaining a lot of popularity.
7. Red Velvet
They debuted in 2014 and have won a total of 61 awards so far.
8. Blackpink
They debuted in 2016 and have a total of 11 awards so far.
9. TWICE
They debuted in 2015 with "Cheer Up" and have won a total of 52 awards.
10. Monsta X
They debuted in 2015 after surviving a K-pop tv show called No.Mercy.
